Northend United 6 Portadown 0    Saturday 25th February 2017

Northend started the game well with Caolan McCarroll opening the scoring within the first 5 minutes. It didn't take McCarroll long to add his second after a great pass from Connor McAuley. Mat Las added a third goal for Northend after some good play from the midfield.  Northend kept passing the ball well and should have added another . It was McCarroll again on the  score sheet after agreat run by Simon Penny. Half time  5-0

The second half was going too be harder as the lads were playing against the wind but they kept their shape well and we're rewarded when the outstanding Jamie Morrow netting their 6th goal. Caleb Gibson and Owen McGregor were both doing well in defence but it was Jamie Morrow and Dylan King in their new central defence positions that caught the eye .
It was Dylan King's turn to get on the score sheet after the Portadown defence failed to clear the ball from a corner. Northend added another goal when Matt Las beat the off side trap then it was that man Jamie Morrow again to grab his second goal of the day.  Northend kept going and the goal of the game came when Simon Penny beat two players and fired an unstoppable shot from the edge of the Portadown box. Northend added another two goals just before the final whistle. Special mention to Sam Crawford and Dylan McLaughlin who took a step un from the U13s today and certainly didn't look out of place.

Man of the Match: Team Performance - This was truly a good team performance with everyone playing their part today. We'll done you deserved you're win great energy attitude and teamwork . Thanks

Annagh United 6 Northend United 1     Saturday 18th February 2017

After a short layoff Northend Youth were back in action without a couple of key players . Northend started very well with some good atacking play by Simon Penny and Caolan McCaroll  Ciaran Martin on the right was in good form picking his passes well and making some great tackles. All the play was in midfield for the first fifteen minutes and Annagh had most of the posession. Jamie Montgomery and Jamie Morrow were playing well with the later making an outstanding tackle on the line to keep Annagh at bay but as like in recent weeks the lads seemed to switch off and gave away 4 goals in the last 15 minutes of the half it could have got worse if not for King and Morrow who both made great tackles in quick succession Half time 4-0

After a little tinkering to the formation at half time The Blues started well with Simon Penny, Ciaran Martin and Jamie Morrow catching the eye with some great skill however Annagh scored against the run of play.
This didn't deter Northend and they started to play some good football and it was the electric pace of Penny who released Matt Las who made no mistake with a well taken 20 yard strike. This seemed to spur the lads on and Caolan McCaroll came close to scoring. Another piece of slack play resulted in a final goal for Annagh
A special mention for Jamie Morrow and Jamie Montgomery who stepped up to the mark in what now seems to be the new centre of defence. Full time 6-1

A massive improvement in the second half I know it's took a while but a massive improvement in their play and attitude is evident. Thanks

Northend United 2 Loughgall 6   Saturday 28th January 2017

Northend started this game on the back foot with Loughgall coming close after 10 minutes.  This seemed a wake up call for the Blues and they came close to scoring with new signing Caolan McCarroll causing the Loughgall defence all sorts of problems. However, two defensive errors cost Northend dearly 10 minutes before the break. Half time 0-2

Northend started the second half very well and we're playing some great football through Pearse Esler, Dylan King and Connor McAuley. Indeed they should have pulled a goal back when a good cross from McAuley flashed across the Loughgall goalmouth with the Northend striker inches away from scoring. Within minutes Loughgall were three up following some more slack play in midfield. Northend still kept pushing on and a terrific run by Ciaran Martin resulted in a free kick when he was brought down, twenty yards out.  From McAuley's free kick, Jamie Montgomery latched on to the ball and placed it past the Loughgall keeper. This spurred on the lads, now playing some good football at this stage of the game. However, Northend conceded a fourth goal from a corner when Esler put the ball through his own goal.
As play flowed from end to end, it was Ciaran Martin again who took on three players and laid the ball on for Mateusz Las to score Northend's second goal. With the Blues on the front foot, they went looking for more goals, they were punished twice in the last five minutes.
The team is now improving week on week and are playing with some good attacking football. Wth two key players missing, this was a good display of football and the score doesent give them Justice. Special mention to new signing Caolan McCarroll who added additional pace to the forward line. Full time 2-6

Northend United 0 Hillsborough Boys 6       Saturday 14th January 2017

Northend started very well in this game against league leaders Hillsborough Boys, keeping them at bay with some outstanding saves from David Gregg but the table toppers opened the scoring after 15 minutes after Northend failed to clear their lines. Adam Campbell came close to scoring shortly after that and Mateusz Las should have levelled the score after great work on the left from Adam Campbell.
Another defensive error from Northend led to a second goal but the lads kept plugging away. Half time 0-2

Changes were made at half time and Northend kept out the pressing Hillsborough side with great defending from Pearce Esler  and Jamie Morrow.
Hillsborough scored a third goal with another defensive error. The lads played some great football especially Pearse Esler, Jamie Mongomery and Jamie Morrow. In the final 10 minutes as tiredness set in, more defensive errors led to 3 late goals.
Northend played some great football at times against the league leaders elect but need to improve on their set-piece defending. However the team continues to improve week on week and look forward to a good run-in for the rest of the season. Full time 0-6

Lisburn Ladies 4 Northend United 6    Saturday 7th january 2017

Northend returned to action after a long lay-off and was slow to start with Lisburn dictating the play in midfield without threatening the Blues goal. However Adam Campbell came close to scoring twice in 2 minutes, and it wasn't too long before he got his first goal after great work from Ciaran Martin and Mateusz Las.
Straight away Northend doubled their score when Ryan McQuillan picked up a slack pass and found the far corner of the net.
Adam Campbell was causing the Lisburn defence all sorts of problems and his cross was converted by Ciaran Martin at the back post. Campbell scored his second before Mateusz Las got on the score sheet to make it 5 at half time Half time 0-5

The second half started the same as the first with Lisburn pressing hard but great defending from Dylan King and Pearse Esler kept them out. However a miss-timed tackle in the Blues box resulted in a penalty kick which was saved with an acrobatic stop from David Gregg. From the resultant corner, Lisburn scored when their striker wasn't picked up. This was Gregg's third penalty save in as many games. The ladies kept pressing and we're rewarded with another 2 goals as the Northend defence lost their concentration.
Changes were made and it was that sharpshooter Campbell with his outstanding pace who scored 4 goals in 10 minutes. Another miss-timed tackle led to another Lisburn free kick which gave the inform Gregg no chance in the Blues nets. This seemed to spur Northend on for more goals and some great interactive play from Jamie Montgomery and Ciaran Martin led to Mongomery scoring Northend's final goal. Full time 4-10
